Daniel Street Project Starts Next Week

City Public Works officials say new sidewalks and lamp posts will be installed by June.

As city Public Works crews wrap up the gas main replacement project on Daniel Street, the next phase of creating new brick sidewalks and lamp posts will begin next week.

According to Dave Desfosses, the city Public Works Department project manager, contractor John H. Lyman and Sons of Guilford will begin constructing the Daniel Street Streetscape Improvement Project.

He said it will feature new brick sidewalks, pedestrian scale lighting and trees will replace the existing sidewalks from Bow Street to Market Square. It is anticipated that the project be completed by June prior to the reopening of the Memorial Bridge.
