Kervick Wins Republican House District 30 Primary

Kevin Kervick will now face Democratic State Rep. Jacki Cali-Pitts in the November 6 general election.

Kevin Kervick knew he ran a hard campaign to win Tuesday's Republican House District 30 primary, but he still found himself in a close race with Wayne Dougherty.

Thanks to a strong victory in Ward 4, Kervick pulled away and earned the right to move on to the November 6 general election to face Democratic State Rep. Jackie Cali-Pitts.

Now he is hoping that his status a a new face in Portsmouth politics will make Republican and Democratic voters choose him over Cali-Pitts, who has served 15 years in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

He believes the economy and creating new jobs is one issue that voters will see separates them. Kervick said he believes in letting small businesses grow to create jobs while Cali-Pitts may favor some of Gov. John Lynch's policies that call on government to help create new jobs.
