IMAGE GALLERY: Middle School Addition Takes Shape

Construction crews have made a great deal of progress erecting the frame of the project that will be completed in 2013.

Without any fanfare, construction crews have made significant progress on the intial phase of the Portsmouth Middle School renovation project after they erected much of the streel frame.

In a matter of days, construction crews with Gilbane Building Company of Bedford and CSSI of Merrimack went from working on a vacant lot next to the current middle school to erecting the iron frame of the $37.5 million project.

When completed in 2013, the 250,000 square-foot addition that was was designed by DeStefano Architects of Portsmouth and JCJ Architects will be three stories and include a state-of-the-art recreation center that will take the place of the Connie Bean Recreation Center on Daniel Street.
