Irish Eyes Will Be Smiling in Portsmouth

Here are five places to get your green on for St. Patrick's Day.

One week from today, Sunday, March 17, the city will be celebrating all things Ireland for St. Patrick's Day, and there are plenty of places where people can go to enjoy live Irish music, down plenty of Guinness pints and feast on corned beef and cabbage. Erin Go Bragh! Here are five Portsmouth restaurants/bars to consider:

1. Ri Ra Irish Pub: Oran Moran, the Black Agnus Band and Radio Go Feat Hallie Day will perform lots of great Irish music all day and all night as part of Ri Ra's St. Patrick's Day Weekend celebration. There will be plenty of great Irish fare and discounted pints of Guinness.

2. State Street Saloon: For those who want to do some serious celebrating on St. Patty's Day and catch March Madness action, State Street Saloon is always a great bet.

3. Paddy's An American Grille: If you would like to indulge in an Irish breakfast, Paddy's An American Grille will be serving up a St. Patrick's Day brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with plenty of entertainment. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids.

4. The Press Room: The Connection with Muck and the Mires will perform their St. Patrick's Day show beginning at 9 p.m. Tickets are $4 and $5 each.

5. Coat of Arms Pub: If you want to feel like you are celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the British Isles, then check out the Coat of Arms Pub on Fleet Street. It doesn't get any more authentic than this.
