Man Dies in Crash on I-95 in Portsmouth

State Police: Chevy sedan rolled over multiple times before driver ejected late Friday night.

 

A Massachusetts man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on I-95 in Portsmouth on Friday night, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Police identified the driver as William Lasonde, 63, of Methuen, Mass.

The accident occurred around 9:48 p.m. in the right median area on I-95 northbound, an area separating the northbound lanes and the Exit 5 off-ramp.

Part of the right travel lane was closed for two hours as state troopers investigated the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, Lasonde was driving a 2006 Chevy HHR sedan when the vehicle went off the road to the right side of the highway, struck a guardrail and rolled over multiple times.

Lasonde was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Portsmouth police and fire personnel assisted State Police at the scene and the accident remains under investigation.
