Provident Bank to Feature New Art Exhibit

Artist Sue Hennigan's "Places and Spaces" will be displayed in the bank's lobby during the month of January and a opening night reception will be held on Jan. 8.

The Provident Bank’s Lobby for the Arts in Portsmouth is pleased to present “Places and Spaces,” an exhibit of paintings by artist Sue Hennigan. The exhibit is on display to the public during regular bank hours through January at The Provident Bank’s Portsmouth branch located at 21 Daniel St.

The public is invited to an Artist’s Reception honoring Sue Hennigan on Tuesday, January 8, 2012, from 5:30-7:00 pm at The Provident Bank, 21 Daniel St., Portsmouth.  Light refreshments will be served.

Sue Hennigan’s foray into painting began in the 1990s when a group of neighborhood friends began experimenting with decorative painting.  That experience led to Sue taking numerous classes with talented and supportive Seacoast artists who enabled her to develop original work and explore various mediums.  Sue’s favorite medium is acrylic, but she also paints in oil and watercolor.  She finds the New Hampshire seacoast and mountains an endless source of inspiration.  One of the paintings included in the exhibit, “Rest of the Day”, was selected for the Families First Artists of the Seacoast 2012 calendar.
