Rick Santorum Declared Winner in Iowa

Official count out this morning says Romney really lost by 34 votes.

It's not looking like a good day for Mitt Romney.

The Des Moines Register and other news outlets are reporting this morning that the official count from the Jan. 3 Iowa Caucus shows that Rick Santorum – not Romney – actually wound up with a 34-vote advantage.

Results from eight precincts are still missing, the Register reported, but they will never be recovered and certified.

That means that according to the certified numbers, Santorum comes out on top, with 29,839 votes to Romney's 29,805. Romney had been declared the winner on caucus night by a slim 8-vote margin, which helped propel him to a big win in the New Hampshire Primary.

Also today, a new poll has Newt Gingrich closing on Romney in South Carolina, whose residents go to the polls on Saturday.

Does anyone really care? He got crushed in NH. He's getting crushed in the polls in SC. Besides I here on the news there's like 3 counties or areas that will never be verified. Just goes to show that caucues are a joke

Don't you remember the news going crazy with the "Sweep for Romney" stories?

Somebody who was pushing the meme that Romeny had it all in the bag is going to be forced to drop that little gem.

You can get all excited if you want but it won't change the fact that Little Ricky conducted over 400 town halls in Iowa. That's about 390 more than Mitt. The people of Iowa are a bit more to the right than the voters here in NH. Rick Santorum for the amount of time he campaigned there should have won by a larger margin but he didn't. He's one state candidate 2 if you count on his home state. but go ahead enjoy it because Tuesday is just around the corner.

Romney hardly campaigned there and was never expected to win. My prediction is when he wins SC and Florida the media will still poo poo it.
