Pro Portsmouth's First Night 2012 New Year's Eve celebration kicked into high gear following the spectacular fireworks display over South Mill Pond.
Hundreds of Portsmouth area residents watched and cheered as the display staged by Atlas Fireworks lit up the foggy, night sky. The fireworks were launched at 7:30 p.m. after the annual Pro Portsmouth event began at 4 p.m. The evening's events also included street dancing and lots of live music to help Portsmouth area residents say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012.
