VIDEO: Maritime Folk Festival

Throughout the weekend, musicians performed sing around, sea shanties and other traditional sailor songs across the city.

The nearly 100 people who gathered in Market Square on Sunday for the final day of the 12th annual Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival were treated to sea shanties, sing arounds and all manner of working and drinking songs.

Groups such as Mudhook, Great Bay Sailor, the Knockabouts from Gloucester, Mass., along with many individual performers, entertained city residents and visitors in several venues over the weekend. They ranged from Prescott Park and Market Square to the United Methodist Church and the Press Room.

Much like its predecessors, the festival delivered music and songs that made it easy to reconnect with the Port City's proud seafaring heritage.
