This weekend might have been a wash out, but thanks to several talented Seacoast area musicians, the 13th annual Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival provided plenty of hearty laughter, robust song and camaraderie for those who love the sea and cherish the city's seafaring heritage.

The festival, which began on Friday and concluded Sunday afternoon, featured groups like Mudhook, Great Bay Sailor, London Julie, Chris Maden and Jeff Warner, who helped found the event.

On Sunday, several of these groups and musicians performed their sea shanties an rounds inside venues like Ri Ra, Oppenheimer Funds on Penhallow Street, The Works, the Rusty Hammer and the Portsmouth Athenaeum
