Learn more in our "Today in Portsmouth" column.

1. Downtown gets more bike-friendly. The city has added several bicycle signs on downtown roads to improve safety. The shared lane markings, or “sharrows,” indicate the lane is for both bicycles and vehicles. The one shown in the photo above is on State Street.

2. T-storms possible. There a strong chance of thunderstorms all day Thursday. The high will be 86 degrees. Friday will likely feature showers.

3. Big school donation. Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, which is building a new location at the former Yoken's property on Route 1, recently donated $10,000 to a foundation for Portsmouth schoolchildren.

4. Portsmouth murder case. A man accused of killing a University of New Hampshire student and dumping her body in the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth tried to frame others, prosecutors said. Seth Mazzaglia remains jailed as he awaits trial.

5. In case you missed it. Portsmouth police are searching for a robbery suspect who hit a downtown business Monday.
