NH's Top Donut is... Fried Dough?

See which Granite State establishment made Zagat's '50 States, 50 Donuts' post.

Zagat recently selected the Fried Dough at Blink’s Fry Doe in Hampton Beach to represent New Hampshire in its “50 States, 50 Donuts” post.

What's that? You say fried dough isn't a donut? Well, Zagat warns donut purists in the intro to the piece that its definition of the donut is broad enough to include "ethnic varieties like kolache, modern mash-ups like the Cronut and regional specialties like the malasada," so we assume fried dough fits in there somewhere.

Here’s what Zagat had to say:

New Hampshire: Fried Dough at
Blink’s Fry Doe

The Backstory:
For many living in New Hampshire, summer isn’t complete without getting a stretch of fried dough from the bright-orange Blink’s stand on the Hampton Beach boardwalk. The selection is refreshingly bare-bones - choose from a mix of more than 20 different sweet and savory toppings like powdered sugar (the classic) or minced garlic to slather on your dough.

Where to Find It:
Blink’s Fry Doe, open during the summer on the Hampton Beach boardwalk.

Blink's Fry Doe, located at 191 Ocean Boulevard in Hampton, is open during the summer from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
