Portsmouth Fireworks are July 3 at South Mill Pond

Portsmouth's annual fireworks display is Thursday, July 3.

UPDATE, July 2 – Pending storms force July 3 fireworks in Portsmouth to be postponed until July 5 (which is the rain date).

The Fourth of July fireworks in Portsmouth will be on Thursday, July 3, at the South Mill Pond.

The annual fireworks celebration necessitates a number of parking restrictions in that area, as well as some brief closures.

The city has posted "no parking" on July 3 for the following streets (with the exception of residents, on residential streets):
  • Parrott Avenue
  • Franklin Street
  • Junkins Avenue
  • Pickering Street
  • Mt. Vernon Street
  • Hunking Street
  • Pleasant Street
  • Gardner Street
  • South Street from Miller to Marcy
  • Gates Street
  • Richmond Street
  • Howard Street
  • Rogers Street
  • Elwyn Avenue
  • Edward Street
  • Sherburne Avenue
  • Livermore Street
  • Rockland Street
  • Wentworth Street
  • Kent Street
  • Melcher Street
  • Richards Avenue
  • Whidden Street

City Hall, the Connie Bean Center, and the Indoor Pool are closed on July 4. Portsmouth Public Library closes at 5 p.m. on July 3, and will be closed on July 4. The Peirce Island pool is operating on regular hours on July 4.
