Allegiant Offering Flight Deal for Red Sox Spring Training

The airline, which serves Pease, is offering a special route near the Red Sox spring training facility.

Allegiant, which this month launched passenger airline service out of the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease, is offering a flight deal for the upcoming Boston Red Sox spring training.

The airline runs a single, nonstop route from Pease to Orlando-Sanford International Airport in Florida.

Staring Feb. 13, it will offer a special route to Punta Gorda Airport, which is about 30 miles from the Red Sox training facility in Fort Myers. Fares start at $129 one way.

The Red Sox spring training schedule has not been released yet. It typically runs from mid-February to the end of March.

Allegiant is an "ultra low-cost carrier." Its planes flying out of Portsmouth have no video screens or wireless Internet service.
