Ayotte: Port City Air Soaring

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte touted Port City Air during a business tour this week.

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, touted Port City Air Wednesday during a statewide business tour.

Port City Air, located at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease, is a fixed-based operator—an aircraft service facility that caters to fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

"They're an important part of what's happening at Pease," Ayotte said after meeting with company President Robert Jesurum and CEO Ned Denney.

Ayotte pointed to the recent news that Allegiant Air will once again offer passenger flights out of the airport

"It's exciting to see Allegiant here," she said.

Ayotte, who serves on the Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation, said she opposes a recent budget proposal by President Obama that would add a $100 user fee for general aviation aircraft

"This is an important issue," Ayotte said. "Those fees would have a negative impact on general aviation here at Pease."

Ayotte also touted Portsmouth's Smuttynose Brewery last week on her business tour.
