New Memorial Bridge Raised for Tests

It's set to open next month.

The new Memorial Bridge has been raised for testing to prepare for its opening next month.

The lift-span style bridge connecting Portsmouth to Kittery, Maine has been closed since 2011 after 88 years of service. The new, $89 million bridge is nearing completion.

The center lift span was successfully floated in place on the Pisctaqua River earlier this month.
