When Will BRGR Bar Open?

The owner of Brazo is opening BRGR Bar at Portwalk Place.

BRGR Bar, downtown Portsmouth's newest restaurant, is set to open soon.

Signs have gone up at the eatery's location at Portwalk Place next to the Residence Inn.

Brazo owner Phelps Dieck is behind the new restaurant, which was scheduled to open the second week of December.

The restaurant will feature burgers, fries, salads, craft beers, wines, and milkshakes. There will be about 90 seats—40 of which will be outdoors.

"I wanted to create a new restaurant that not only fit well within the community, but also captured the authentic aspects of a local pub, with an infusion of modern and cool—in both the setting and the menu offerings,” Dieck previously said. "We’ve kept the menu items simple, using all locally sourced and organic ingredients, and added distinctive touches that will set us apart."

Featured burgers will include:
  • The Burger Au Poivre with roasted tomatoes, horseradish mayo, and bacon
  • The Mornay Burger with house-cured ham, mornay sauce, and a fried egg

There will be hand-cut fries in sea salt, truffle, or garlic parmesan, accompanied with dipping sauces, Dieck said.

There will also be "adult milkshakes" spiked with liquors.

"There really isn’t anything like BRGR Bar or Portwalk Place in Portsmouth and we are very excited to be opening soon," Dieck said. "This restaurant will appeal to the traditional Portsmouth foodie, as well as visitors and professionals coming downtown."
