Trump in NH: Obamacare May 'Decimate' Democrats in 2014

The billionaire real estate mogul is considering a run for president.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Thanks to Obamacare, Donald Trump said the Republican Party is on the rise and Democrats are poised to take a beating at the polls in 2014.

"About nine weeks ago it looked like the Republican Party was in tremendous shambles. They were blaming it for everything and it looked like it was really in serious trouble," Trump said Tuesday in a speech at Saint Anselm College. "And then the Obamacare website raised its head and all of a sudden I see things that are unbelievable. I will say that I believe because of Obamacare, which is really turning out to be a disaster, the Democrats have a chance of getting decimated in November. I think Republicans are going to have an election that is going to shock people."

Trump, who told Reuters he may run for president himself in 2016, also spoke briefly about Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign, saying "That was a race that should have been won.

"He was a good man," he added. "I think he actually would have been a good president."

Trump said he thinks the frontrunner in 2016 is going to be someone who isn't even part of the conversation right now.

"Nobody ever heard of Barack Obama. He came out of nowhere," he said. "It's very early. I have a feeling it's going to be someone nobody's really thinking about. You just don't know what's going to happen."

Trump also gave business advice, spoke on Benghazi, Chris Christie, the Tea Party and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan during his talk on Tuesday.

On Benghazi, he said it's "disgraceful" that more people aren't talking about it, but it "doesn't seem to have legs," and isn't likely to be a big issue in the 2016 election.

Trump also took several shots at Obama, saying no matter what happens, nothing seems to stick to him.

"There's never been a person who's got a more beautiful coating of Teflon than our president, because nothing seems to stick, no matter what happens, no matter what's done," he said.

The exception, he said, is Obamacare, which appears to be the one issue that could hurt the President and Democrats running in 2014.

"I think things are gonna work out," Trump said. "I think we've learned a lot over the last three or four years. You have to learn when mistakes are made, and I think we've learned a lot from the bad times. I think the Tea Party is going to be more understanding of winning those races. They wouldn't have done that four years ago."
