Shea-Porter Talks Obamacare

The congresswoman will meet with enrollees and talk about efforts to expand provider network.

U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, a Democrat representing New Hampshire's 1st District, will meet with people who have enrolled in the Affordable Care Act during a roundtable discussion May 5.

Shea-Porter will be at the Goodwin Community Health Center in Somersworth, where her office says she will hear from newly insured families and thank local counselors for helping people sign up for "Obamacare."

Shea-Porter applauded the report last week that 40,262 Granite Staters have enrolled in a health care marketplace plan. As she discusses the issue around the state, however, she has noted her past comments critical of the marketplace rollout, including the delays and website troubles at Healthcare.gov.

In announcing the May 5 roundtable event, her office also said Shea-Porter urged Anthem to release more information about its narrow network of hospitals in the state and her concerns relayed personally to President Obama on network adequacy.
