Mayoral Bid for Rocky D'Andrea, Potential U.S. House Hopeful

Rocky D'Andrea, who's considering a run for Congress next year, announced this week he's running for mayor in Dover.

D'Andrea, a Republican, was elected chairman of the Dover School Board last year.

Asked if he's still thinking about challenging U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-NH, for her seat in Congress, D'Andrea said, "We are still looking into it, but the time is now for Dover. Fixing us as a country starts in every community."

Former Congressman Frank Guinta, of Manchester, is also considering a run against Shea-Porter.

Shea-Porter, a Democrat from Rochester, beat out Guinta in the 2012 election to take back the seat she lost to him in 2010. Guinta has said he expects to announce this month whether he'll run again.
