RAIN presents Fatoumata Diawara

June 13, RAIN welcomes Fatoumata Diawara to The Music Hall stage to benefit rural women and children of West Africa.  Singer-songwriter Fatoumata has created her own blend of Wassalou tradional sound brought to life with powerful African dance, making her a celebrated international tour de force.  Fatoumata has received accolades for bringing together fellow musicians to record Voices for Mali - an album calling for peace and harmony in West Africa. 

Join Fatoumata and her band for an inspiring and uplifting evening in support of our learning and earning programs empowering nomadic women as mentors who counsel and advocate for at-risk girls to succeed in school.

Also featured will be the global jazz inspiration of The Randy Armstrong World Fusion Trio with Jose Duque and Volker Nahrmann.
