Jim Splaine: Neighborhood Walks Coming Up

I have learned much during the more than a dozen Neighborhood Walks that I have done so far. The next two weeks, I will do more, each by request and accompanied by residents in the areas. They include:

* Saturday, March 1, 10 a.m.: Pannaway Manor, starting at the location of the old Sherburne store.

* Sunday, March 2, 11 a.m.: Essex Avenue and Sheffield Road, beginning at the Powder House at corner of Islington Street.

* Saturday, March 8, 11 a.m.: Bartlett Street, beginning at Dennett Street.

* Thursday, March 13, 5:30 p.m.: Van Buren Avenue in Elwyn Park neighborhood, then meeting with residents from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the Dondero School Library.

Anyone is welcome to take part.  The discussions I have had with residents on their streets and in their homes have been invaluable to me in learning ideas and thoughts for our community.

I much appreciate the friendliness and insight offered by so many residents whom I have met. Much more to see, hear about, and learn.
