2-Alarm Fire Engulfs Kittery Home

Portsmouth area residents watch heavy black smoke rise from fire scene located just across the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge.

Portsmouth firefighters and several other Seacoast area fire departments responded to a 2-alarm fire that engulfed a Kittery, Maine home Friday on the other side of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge.

Heavy black smoke could be clearly seen from the Bow Street decks in Portsmouth where several Portsmouth area residents and visitors came to dine. The fire broke out sometime after 1 p.m.

According to preliminary reports from emergency communications, the fire is at 41 Oak Terrace in Kittery, Maine.
