UPDATED, 1:15 p.m.: Kittery Police Chief Paul Callaghan said three Massachusetts men stole $2,000 to $3,000 worth of clothing from the Calvin Klein and Polo Ralph Lauren stores at the Kittery Outlets before they were arrested by Portsmouth Police.
Callaghan said a Portsmouth Police officer heard the all points bulletin put out by Kittery Police three to four minutes after it was issued and the police officer stopped the vehicle with Massachusetts plates on Exit 3 at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle. Callaghan said the stolen merchandise was inside the vehicle. He said police are still investigating to determine what other stores the three suspects may have also hit.
According to Maine law, Callaghan said the York County Attorney's office will probably charge the three suspects with a Class C felony shoplifting, which carries a 3 1/2 to 7-year State Prison sentence if convicted. He could not say when the three men would be charged in Maine. They were scheduled to be arraigned on the New Hampshire charges of receiving stolen property via video arraignment in Seabrook Circuit Court.

The suspects were arrested around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday following a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 95 south by the Portsmouth Traffic Circle. The stop was the result of a broadcast put out by Kittery Police, who were looking for three men who were possibly involved in the theft of clothing from several outlet stores in their town.
All three are scheduled to be arraigned by video on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Seabrook District Court.
