Caravan Engulfed in Flames after I-95 Collision, No Injuries Reported

NH State Police say no injuries were reported in the accident, which contributed to a significant backup on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth.

A two-car collision on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth on June 28 resulted in one vehicle being engulfed in flames and a significant traffic backup on I-95 northbound, according to New Hampshire State Police.

The collision occurred just before noon at Exit 5. No injuries were reported, State Police Troop A reported.

State Police said that the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Nissan Sentra driven by David Collamor, 26, of Braintree, Mass., was stopped in heavy traffic when a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Douglas Cormier, 38, of Portsmouth, struck the rear of the Sentra. The Caravan then became engulfed in flames, police said.

Portsmouth Police, Portsmouth Fire Department and the state Department of Transportation assisted State Police at the scene.

Anyone with information related to the collision is asked to contact Trooper Shupe at NH State Police Troop A at (603) 223-8490.
