City Woman Charged with Stalking

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 24.

Thursday:

• At 10:02 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Parrott Avenue after the caller said someone slashed two of his car's front tires.
• At 6:28 p.m., police took a report of forgery of checks on State Street.
• At 8:02 p.m., police reported a theft after the caller said a female shopper stole $150 worth of merchandise from a Lafayette Road business.

Friday:

• At 2:52 a.m., police reported a burglary on Deer Street.
• At 8:12 a.m., police took a report of a stalking incident on Spinney Road.
• At 11:18 a.m., police arrested a York, Maine man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Jeffrey Spaulding, 32, of 1 Medow View Lane in York, Maine was wanted for traffic control devices.
• At 11:25 a.m., police reported the theft of several DVDs from a Lafayette Road business.
• At 11:48 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she turned herself in at the police station. Ashley Clark, 26, of 16 Weald Road in Portsmouth was wanted for stalking and default or breach of bail conditions.
• At 2:40 p.m., police reported that a store had a $20 counterfeit bill passed on Woodbury Avenue and the person who passed it was still there.
• At 10:22 a.m., police arrested a Dover man who was involved in a domestic incident on Hanover Street. Shawn Burby, 25, of 9 Roberts Road in Dover was charged with a violation of a protective order penalty.

Saturday:

• At 12:16 a.m., police arrested a Londonderry man following a motor vehicle stop on Islington and Pearl streets. Eric Ward, 34, of 32 Fieldstone Drive in Londonderry was charged with default or breach of bail conditions.
• At 7:52 a.m., police reported a rape forcible sex assault on Gosling Road.
• At 10:07 a.m., police reported the theft of an iPad from an apartment on Farm Lane.
• At 1:11 p.m., police arrested a man who was involved in a domestic incident on Hanover Street. Steven Brian Morin, 46, address unknown, was charged with simple assault.
• At 2:26 p.m., police arrested a Salisbury, Mass., man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Lafayette Road. Joshua A. Horvitz, 23, of 128 Railroad Ave., Apt. 3, in Salisbury, Mass., was wanted for an arrest warrant.

Sunday:

• At 9:52 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman on Greenleaf Avenue. Denise Rachelle Burks, 33, of 183 Greenleaf Ave., Apt. D, in Portsmouth was wanted for wilful concealment.
• At 5:30 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Brendan O'Brien, 48, of 85 Nathaniel Drive in Portsmouth was wanted for criminal mischief (vandalism).
