Man Charged with Stalking Ex-Girlfriend at Harpoon Willy's

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Wednesday:

  • At 7:15 a.m., police reported a theft on Gosport Road after the caller said someone took her mailbox.
  • At 8:35 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Pleasant Street after some graffiti was spotted on some street signs.
  • At 9:07 a.m., police reported a theft of a cell phone on Lafayette Road.
  • At 11:53 a.m., police reported the theft of a laptop from a vehicle on Lafayette Road.
  • At 1:10 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Pleasant Street after the caller said pizza was smeared on their car and there were cigarette burns and a dent in the vehicle's hood.
  • At 5:54 p.m., police arrested a Durham man on Bow Street following a domestic incident where he allegedly violated a protective order by stalking his ex-girlfriend at Harpoon Willy's. Jake Austin Putnam, 22, of 20 Stafford Ave., Apt. R, was charged with violation of a protective order and stalking.
  • At 8:02 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man for simple assault on Holiday Drive. Reginald T. Jenkins, 41, of 600 Lafayette Road was charged with second degree assault and simple assault following an altercation where the victim had to be transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for an eye injury.
  • At 8:48 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Lafayette Road. Mesfen A. Rowell, 24, of 600 Lafayette Road was wanted for a bench warrant.
