Man Threatens to Jump Off I-95 Bridge

Emergency communications reported that police were able to take a man into custody after he threatened to jump off Piscataqua Bridge at 12 noon.

Police and firefighters were able to take a man into custody after he threatened to jump off the I-95 bridge on Saturday around 12 noon.

According to emergency communications, a male subject was reportedly on the ledge of the Piscataqua Bridge's northbound side. Portsmouth Police and city firefighters rushed to the scene.

Traffic was backed up on the northbound side of I-95 as police officers and firefighters responded to the scene. A few minutes later, the man was taken into custody after he came down from the ledge, according to emergency communications, and northbound traffic resumed.
