Police Charge Exeter Man in 2 Portsmouth Robberies

Portsmouth police say a tip via Seacoast Crime Stoppers helped detectives make the arrest.

Portsmouth police have arrested and charged a man as the alleged armed robber of the Cabot Street Market and Hanscom's Truck Stop last month.

Police said William F. Flibotte, 21, with a last known address of 105 Beech Hill Road in Exeter, was charged with two counts of armed robbery on July 8.

The arrest came after a tip via Seacoast Crime Stoppers, which detectives corroborated by physical evidence and witness statements, according to Portsmouth Police.

Police said Flibotte was already in custody at Rockingham County jail on unrelated charges from July 3 in Portsmouth. He is scheduled to be arraigned July 9 via video on the armed robbery counts.

The Cabot Street Market robbery occurred June 24 while the Hanscom's Truck Stop robbery occurred June 30. Police say the robber allegedly brandished a knife at the clerk.

Police ask anyone with information about the robberies, or any other crime, to call Det. Rochelle Jones at (603) 610-7503, or leave an anonymous tip via Seacoast Crime Stoppers (603) 431-1199, or (207) 439-1199.
