Police Probe Theft of Antique Spoons

The following arrest information was supplied by the Portsmouth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Tuesday:

  • At 8:10 a.m., police reported a theft on the Route 1 Bypass of $4,500 worth of tires.
  • At 4:28 p.m., police reported a theft of three antique pieces of silverware from a Ceres Street business that are worth $1,400. The three spoons were on display in a case and date back to the 17th an 18th centuries.
  • At 10:34 p.m., police reported a theft of $1,500 in cash from the Oriental Gardens on Lafayette Road. The caller told police he had some friends staying with him and he is now missing the money.
