Police Seek Man Who Burglarized Route 1 Business

A man in his mid-20s reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise from New England Gold Buyers.

Portsmouth Police are seeking a male suspect in connection with a burglary at New England Gold Buyers on Route 1 early Friday morning.

In the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 28, Portsmouth Police responded to New England Gold Buyers at 3131 Lafayette Road for a report of a suspicious man in the building.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that the man had fled the area. Officers then learned that force was used to gain entry into the building and an undisclosed amount of merchandise was taken from the business. Portsmouth Police Detectives and members of the Crime Scene Team responded to process the scene.

The suspect is described as being in his mid-20s, with no facial hair and a thin face. He was wearing a dark-colored knit cap with a white design.
