Portsmouth Hospital Issues Scam Alert

Some women are receiving calls asking for personal information.

Submitted by Portsmouth Regional Hospital:

It has come to our attention that some women have received phone calls asking for personal information. The callers indicate they are working to secure financial awards for individuals who had surgeries or procedures involving mesh. Callers state they are from various organizations or state departments. They are very aggressive in trying to obtain personal and confidential information.

These calls are not legitimate and are a scam. Should you receive any kind of call that seems suspicious or aimed at obtaining personal information, hang up immediately.

Catherine Lord, from the consumer protection arm of the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office has taken on this case. Contact her at: catherine.lord@doj.nh.gov or (603) 271-5717.
