Woman Says Erratic Driver Spit on Her

The following are excerpts from the Portsmouth police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, July 4

  • 12:29 a.m. Mitchell Towne, 25, of South Berwick, Maine, is charged with disorderly conduct after police respond downtown for a report of a fight with a doorman.
  • 12:47 a.m. Caller reports a suspicious male walking on Mechanic Street. Investigation reveals there was a pig roast in the area and it could have been one of the attendees walking home.
  • 1:07 a.m. A bunch of people making loud noise was reported in front of the Keefe House downtown.
  • 9:26 a.m. A caller reports someone threw a rock at a car windshield on Woodbury Avenue.
  • 9:31 a.m. A woman reports she was bitten by a dog.
  • 9:30 p.m. A caller reports fireworks are being shot off at a park on Islington Street.
  • 9:31 p.m. Kelly Palmer, 22, of Dover, is charged with drug possession.
  • 9:59 p.m. A woman reports a man was driving erratically then stopped at a light, got out of his car, and started yelling and spitting at her. He also reportedly stuck his hand in her car window before taking off.
  • 11:30 p.m. A caller reports fireworks going off on Cabot Street and State Street.
