Air Force Confirms KC-46A on Track

The military will run test flights on the new KC-46A aircraft in June.

The new air refueling fleet of KC-46A for Pease Air National Guard is on track, according to U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH).

Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. Mark Welsh III, gave the status update Tuesday.

The KC-46A air craft will conduct test flights in June.

Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James will visit to Pease Air National Guard Base on Friday.

On the video attached, and provided by Ayotte's office, the senator has an exchange with Secretary James on the status of the KC-46A fleet.

Pease now operates a fleet of about nine KC-135 planes, but some of the planes are nearly 50 years old. The new fleet ensures Pease will continue to play a critical role in national security, and support military missions abroad, according to New Hampshire's congressional delegation.
