I am running for Council because I enjoyed my time on the Council (2002-2003) and the School Board (1992-1995) and I think I can contribute something during an unusually challenging time. I have served the City in many ways in my 25 years here. I am not an ideologue and I don’t have an agenda other than to try to keep Portsmouth a vibrant and affordable city that continues to provide services during a lean time. I pledge only to LISTEN, and to be fair to the taxpayers paying the bill for that the City believes it needs to provide and to be fair to the people who expect adequate services. This may sound like a platitude, but it is the essence of what a City Councilor should do.
