NHGOP Denounces Vandalism Tweets by Fuller Clark Spokesman

Keith McCrea made two tweets after the NHGOP Concord headquarters were vandalized.

The New Hampshire Republican Party on Monday denounced tweets by a spokesman for State Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, regarding vandalism to its headquarters.

Someone last week painted “WWJD HEALTHCARE FOR EVERYONE” on NHGOP building in Concord.

The spokesman, Keith McCrea, tweeted "#NHGOP outraged by Christian graffiti. 'healthcare for all' is bad? Hilarious. Who does the party represent, again?"

McCrea also tweeted "looks like it spells 'what would Jesus do' to me. Why does the GOP hate Christ?"

In response, NHGOP Executive Director Matt Slater released the following statement:

"It is outrageous that a high ranking staffer for a prominent Democrat elected official would call vandalism to our headquarters 'hilarious' and say that it means Republicans 'hate Christ.' Senator Martha Fuller Clark and the New Hampshire Democrat Party need to immediately condemn these despicable comments and make it clear that they do not condone vandalism in politics. As the leader of the New Hampshire Democrat Party, Governor Maggie Hassan should also condemn these shameful political tactics so that Democrat activists understand that this kind of rhetoric has no place in our political discourse."

McCrea's tweets were deleted.

He later tweeted: "please accept my apologies for previous remarks. I in (no) way sought to defend breaking the law."
