Scott Brown to Launch Senate Run in Portsmouth

Brown will be the fourth Republican officially in the race to challenge U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)

Scott Brown will launch his U.S. Senate run Thursday at the Portsmouth Sheraton Harborside Hotel, WMUR-TV reports.

Brown has said his family roots reach back nine generations in Portsmouth, and he lived in this seaside city briefly as a young child.

Brown, a Republican from Rye, has been traveling the state as part of an exploratory committee tour, "Main Streets & Living Rooms." As he has met residents, he has consistently criticized the Affordable Care Act and U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) support for it.

Candidates already running for the GOP nomination are: Jim Rubens, Bob Smith and Karen Testerman.
