Portsmouth Ranked Among NH's Top High Schools

U.S. News & World Report ranks Portsmouth High School 9th best in NH.

Portsmouth High School gets high grades in the U.S. News & World Report's ranking of New Hampshire's top high schools.

The annual survey ranks Portsmouth at No. 9 in the state, and No. 1,585 in the country.

Its ranking notes reading proficiency of 87 percent, math proficiency of 41 percent, and a College Readiness Index of 24.5.

From the US News & World Report ranking: 

"Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Portsmouth High School is 29 percent. The student body makeup is 51 percent male and 49 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 11 percent." 

U.S. News & World Report analyzed data from over 31,200 public high schools and published data on student demographics, test results and Advanced Placement programs.
