Simply Not Possible

Allegedly New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie closed two of three lanes on a road leading up to the George Washington Bridge in Ft. Lee, creating massive traffic congestion and a big headache for that city's Democratic mayor, Mark Sokolich.

Mayor Sokolich apparently had refused to endorse the Governor when he ran for re-election, and speculation is that the lane closures were used as a political weapon to punish him for disloyalty.

Frankly, I'm skeptical.

I mean, government officials abusing their position to harass, intimidate, or persecute a political rival? In this, the indispensable nation, the world's largest democracy — where "we" are the government?

I don't believe it.

The next thing you know, someone will be saying they exploit tragedies to enhance their power. Madness!

Anyone who says such a thing obviously hates his country and wants the terrorists to win.
