Portsmouth Baseball Wins State Title

After a one-year hiatus, Portsmouth is back in the Division II baseball driver's seat.

For four straight years, the Portsmouth High School baseball team didn't lose, compiling 89 wins and four-straight Division II championships.

Both streaks came to an end in 2012, as the Clippers fell twice—once in the regular season to eventual champ St. Thomas Aquinas, 5-4, and then in the state semifinals, 2-1, against Lebanon.

This year, PHS players and coaches said "enough with that," and on Saturday, June 8, the Clippers took back their crown and once again sit on the D-II throne.

The 13-3 Clippers entered the postseason as the No. 2 seed, and defeated top-ranked Goffstown, 5-2, in front of parents students and fans from both squads at Manchester's Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
