Tribute for Man Who 'Contributed So Much' to Portsmouth

Tony Rahn died this summer.

The City Council this week approved naming the Pease softball field after Tony Rahn, the founder of the Portsmouth Girls Softball Association who died this summer.

Rahn was also a physical education teacher at Dondero Elementary School and Newington Elementary School. He also helped develop the Portsmouth Elementary Basketball League.

City Councilor Nancy Novelline Clayburgh said Rahn "contributed so much to our city."

Clayburgh said there could be some type of plaque or memorial bench for Rahn installed at the field.
