Berry Brook Sunset

The other day I posted a couple of photos of Berry Brook in Portsmouth.  For some reason, the uploads came out as low resolution images.  Maybe it was because I uploaded them as a pair.  I'm going to try again with this new photo and see how it turns out.  If it doesn't turn out all that well, check here.

It's a panorama of Berry Brook, downstream from where I took the other photos.  Those were in Portsmouth.  This view is on the west side of Sagamore Road in Rye.  I took the photos last night.  While I was taking photos for the panorama, a great blue heron flew away, and it grew pretty cold as the sun was going down.  The water is in flood stage, but the level is slowly receding.  It was even higher the day before yesterday.

About a week ago, I was driving by this spot when I saw a male hooded merganser swimming close to the road.  It was a striking-looking bird.

The panorama is made up of 24 photos that constitute eight panels of three exposures each.  Each panel is 4000 x 6000 pixels.  If wanted, the photo could be enlarged to take up an entire living room wall with no loss of image resolution.  The file size is huge at 471 MB.
