Speaker Boehner Investigate Benghazi? Hah! Never.

"Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi - BENGHAZI!!!"

That's the Republicans' babbling cry with flecks of flying spittle.

They allege chicanery and coverup on the part of the Obama administration over the 11 September 2012 attack against the American consular office and CIA compound in Benghazi, Libya, that cost four American lives.  But what is it that the administration is allegedly covering up?  (That former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, would have been a better president?  Right.  Romney helped them with that one.)

We hear wild allegations: "The administration lied about terrorism," Republicans say.  "The administration refused to protect American lives.  The administration doesn't care.  It's a coverup!"  Blah, blah, blah.  On and on and on.

How many months has it been since the attack?  Almost seventeen?

So what are Republicans in Congress doing about it now?  They might be a minority in the Senate, but they control the House of Representatives.  They have power to investigate.  They can form a select committee, call witnesses and subpoena documents.  Yet they do nothing - nothing but accuse.  Isn't it way past time to put up or shut up?

Apparently House Speaker Boehner, the Republican majority leader, is preventing a committee from being formed.  Smart man.

He knows that it's worse than a waste of time.  It's a scandal that his own party is obsessed with what is at its heart a hoax.  Boehner knows that if his party really digs in deep, they'll still come up with nothing, and then two things will happen: They'll reveal themselves to have been deluded all along and end up looking like fools for believing their own lies, and they'll also run out of accusations because by then their charges will have been systematically refuted by their own committee findings.

But, by not forming a committee, Republicans can just keep on making false accusations and muddy the waters.

That Speaker Boehner - dumb as a fox.  He knows it's all baloney, but he doesn't want us to find out, too.

Oh, and by the way, what will Former Massachusetts U.S. senator, Scott Brown, do about "Benghazigate" if he's the Republican nominee to challenge New Hampshire's U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen in the midterm election later this year?  Sit on his hands like our other U.S. senator, Kelly Ayotte?   Wait for the liberal media to do the Republican Party's work for them as she does?  His GOP rivals should ask him that.  They should just ask him and watch him squirm.

"Senator Brown, if you're elected to be New Hampshire's U.S. Senator in Washington, how much attention will you give to investigating Benghazi?  Little or none, right?"

"Little or none" is right because, just like Senator Ayotte, Brown knows it's a waste of time.  He's just not very comfortable with that far-right nutty stuff.  Commendable!  He expects moderation to be his edge if he can just get past the fringers in the primaries.

But first he'll have to promise his people that he's on the case for them.  Hm.  Kind of a bind.
