For the Love of Food Trucks

I’ve never written a film review before, but last night in Hanover, New Hampshire, I was part of an audience that saw something simply wonderful.  The movie was “Chef”, an American tale that transported all of us in the theater out of a world of unhappiness to a place so filled with love, courage and values, not to mention breathtaking food imagery, that no one wanted it to finish.

In fact, it was the moment of the film’s ending that really caught me up.  As the screen went black, five hundred people in the dark began to clap, not with a hesitant, polite patter of hands, but with a roaring, grateful, joyous applauding.  And it struck me that what we were all doing was saying thank you for a couple of hours of bliss, a time in which we could feel good to be who we are, and also to feel how different but wonderfully the same we are as well.

Do yourselves a favor folks, go see “Chef”. And wear your good “go to dances” shoes, cause you’ll be rockin’ when you leave the theater.
