Strawbery Banke to Hold Earth Day Clean-up

Volunteers needed to rake, plant and weed Strawbery Banke Museum gardens on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Spring is in full bloom and Strawbery Banke is just about to open for the season on May 1. The Museum is inviting volunteers to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21 as a volunteer for Garden Cleanup Day, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

An annual tradition, the Earth Day volunteers help accomplish what would otherwise be three months of work in just a few hours. Rain date Sunday, April 22.

Morning refreshments donated by Starbucks and lunch, following the Garden Cleanup will be pizza from Flatbread Company of Portsmouth and a slow food potluck (volunteers also welcome for the lunch.) Slow Food Seacoast will conduct a seed swap and will give away free heirloom seeds with strong regional ties.
