Market Square Day and 10 Other Fun Things This Weekend

Market Square Day in Portsmouth, Catamaran racing in Hampton and Father's Day fun all around.

Market Square Day, one the great festivals in the Seacoast area, is this Saturday, June 14, in Portsmouth. MSD is a red-hot nucleus of fun: entertainment, food, shopping, history, people-watching, and more.

In addition to Market Square Day, here are six other things to do this weekend around the Seacoast:

  • Market Square Day Festival and 10K:  The festival is June 14. Check out the MSD website and handy map for more information.
  • Shop Portsmouth Friday Nights: Explore over 100 distinctive shops in downtown Portsmouth. Stroll bricked sidewalks to find just-right jewels, that WOW dress, the perfect gift, or a delicious treat. Let the local shop owners put their knowledge and expertise to work for YOU. *Bring your Friday receipt from one of the participating shops to any participating restaurant and receive a special dining offer on that same Friday!
  • Go ahead and groove, child. The Groove Cats play The Dolphin Striker Friday night 9:30 p.m. in the Spring Hill Tavern.
  • Hampton Beach: The Reminisants play the Sea Shell stage on Saturday, June 14. Casino Ballroom: Tickets for ZZ TOP and the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band go on sale Friday, June 13. See the Casino Ballroom for upcoming shows.
  • Worship in a historic sanctuary. The North Church (United Church of Christ) has worship at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 15, in the Market Square Sanctuary
  • Hit the Decks: The Portsmouth Gas Light Co. welcomes the Drew Yount Duo to its deck Saturday, June 14, from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
  • Fighting Friday: Enjoy some more live music at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse in Portsmouth. "Fighting Friday" plays on Saturday (June 14) because "Pop Disaster" was already booked for Friday.
