BRGR bar will feature burgers, fries, salads, craft beers, wines, and milkshakes.

Portsmouth restaurateur and Brazo owner Phelps Dieck will open another downtown restaurant this fall.

BRGR Bar is set to open in November at Portwalk Place.

The restaurant will feature burgers, fries, salads, craft beers, wines, and milkshakes. There will be about 90 seats—40 of which will be outdoors.

"I wanted to create a new restaurant that not only fit well within the community, but also captured the authentic aspects of a local pub, with an infusion of modern and cool—in both the setting and the menu offerings,” Dieck said in a statement. "We’ve kept the menu items simple, using all locally sourced and organic ingredients, and added distinctive touches that will set us apart."

Featured burgers will include:
  • The Burger Au Poivre with roasted tomatoes, horseradish mayo, and bacon
  • The Mornay Burger with house-cured ham, mornay sauce, and a fried egg

Diners will be able to complete their burgers with hand-cut fries in sea salt, truffle, or garlic parmesan varieties, accompanied with specialty dipping sauces, Dieck said.

Diners will also be able to add specialty liquors to milkshakes, she said.

"There really isn’t anything like BRGR Bar or Portwalk Place in Portsmouth and we are very excited to be opening soon," added Dieck. "This restaurant will appeal to the traditional Portsmouth foodie, as well as visitors and professionals coming downtown."
