Downtown Mexican Restaurant Closes

Ole Burritos and Beer was only open for about four months.

By Robert Cook

Four months after it opened, Ole Burritos and Beer abruptly closed its doors this week.

According to Portsmouth real estate broker Bill Mouflouze, the restaurant's owner, Roger Elkus, has decided to focus his attention on Roger's Redliner Diner at Southgate Plaza on Lafayette Road.

Mouflouze said that Elkus and Me and Ollie's general manager Daryl McGann hired him to sell the business with a long term lease and he said he already has some people who are interested in doing business there.

Elkus previously told Portsmouth Patch he decided to convert the former Me and Ollie's eatery into a Mexican restaurant following a trip he took to the Southwest. He and McGann hoped to capture business from the late night bar crowds.

Me and Ollie's still operates restaurants in Newington, Exeter and Greenland.
