Downtown Portsmouth's Newest Restaurant Opens

LoMo opened at the site of the former Green Monkey restaurant.

There's a new restaurant on the downtown Portsmouth dining scene.

LoMo, which stands for Local Movement, opened Tuesday on Pleasant Street at the site of the former Green Monkey restaurant.

"Everything we are making is artisan handcrafted," said chef/owner Dan Dumont.

He said the restaurant features a daily roast that includes locally raised chickens, pigs and fresh-caught sea bass. Other menu options include charcuterie, small plates and handmade pastas. A Sunday brunch is also being planned.

One of the entrees is caramelized diver scallops with apple puree, lardons, cauliflower and curry for $32.
