Momma D's Closes

Momma D's operated in Portsmouth for more than 25 years.

Momma D's, an Italian restaurant that operated in Portsmouth for over 25 years, has closed its doors.

The restaurant last year moved from its spot on the Route 1 Bypass to Newington at the site of the former New Asia restaurant on Shattuck Way.

Both sites are currently up for lease.

"It was a very difficult decision to make but one that was necessary," owner Henry Dutkowski wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page. "(Twenty-eight) years of friends that became family is difficult to walk away from. Please keep Momma D's in your hearts as we will keep all of you in ours. Cooking and serving for you was a gift that we will take with us where ever our lives bring us."
